Conquering the Sphere Grid.
I'm having a bit of difficulty with trying to maintain enough patience to complete the entire Sphere Grid and, while I was screaming with frustration, I wondered what everyone else does to get around the Sphere Grid quickly.
So, post your techniques, really: where you go, whom you use, what abilities you have ... the whole shizzle.

I just followed the default path most characters had, and veered off if I had the chance to nab some of the better abilities. I'm not sure about any special ways to get around faster, but my Rikku has completed the entire thing despite the fact I use Tidus far more.
I'll check out my save game and get back to you on this.

Um, I really didn't have any techniques. Like Vergil, I decided which abilities I needed at that point of the game, which is usually a default path for me. I know I gained lots of HP and MP though...
I don't remember what abilities I had, unfortunately. But I did finish the whole sphere grid...don't remember how I did it - I just...went along with the flow. =)

I didn't have enough patience to go around the entire Sphere Grid, but I at least completed each character's own path. Really, you should just follow the course set out for you, and only veer if there's some cool skill you could get thanks to the unlocking spheres.
For instance, halfway through Yuna's path, I veered for a minute and got Steal from Rikku's path. It made her a bit more useful until she got Holy.  I think I did the same for Kimahri too, but then again I never used him much because he was too shapeshifty.
Basically, just keep plowing along and you'll get everything; there's no real technique to it, except having plenty of patience and free time.

I completed most characters paths, Auron even went halfway round Wakkas, but I simply didn't have enough patience to go around the whole sphere grid

Aye, I've just murdered Yunalesca and I'm at the stage where everyone's crossing over to other people's paths. I just can't seem to bring myself to actually finish the whole thing.

Its tough. Cant remember if ive ever done it but the most recent time i played it I finished all the characters own paths, only going off after they finished. This time around i actually made Kimahri a mage (put him on Lulu's Grid) after he finished. I just dont like to train that much so i didnt bother finishing it this time around.

I have completely conquered the grid with Tidus, Yuna, Wakka and Auron. I have no tips it just happened cuz my save is like ....125 hours or sumet so lol just keep leveling |

Hmm, I've practically completed the grids for Rikku, Tidus, and Yuna; I think it's mainly due to the double AP effect on their weapons combined with the pretty insane AP you get from Omega Ruins. My other characters are pretty rubbish in comparison as I can't be bothered with them.

The farthest I've actually gone on the Sphere Grid is taken Yuna's through hers, Lulu's, and part of Tidus... so basically, 2 1/2 sphere grids all around, except for Kimahri who just went through Tidus' in one file, and just Auron's (or Lulu's, I forget) in another.
I don't like to take too much time between Yunalesca and Sin. My biggest file is like 270 hours, but that's just because I played Blitzball a LOT... I have like, 7 files all over 200 hours just for that reason.
As far as leveling up goes, yeah, I take a long time... but after everyone gets through a couple grids, I just want to beat the game because it's so awesome. :]
