Tidus
Anyone else note that fact that Tidus didn't appear throughout the game or the fact that nobody said his name once.
also that they didn't go to the farplane because that weapon was there and as well as Shyuin lookin like Tidus.
Anybody think that tidus might have meet Shyuin before

Well, the reason why Tidus' name is never mentioned is because the beginning of FFX you can name Tidus. Thats also why they never say Tidus' (or yours) name in FFX. Same for X-2.
Be wary. This is a extreme spoiler
Once you complete the game 100%, you can get a secret ending on which Tidus comes back to Spira. Really great ending and worth it.

Tidus did appear a couple of times in the game.
MAJOR SPOILERS
If you remember when Yuna had her nightmare you saw him in that FMV and also when she gets stranded in the Farplane with Shuyin, she hears that whistle and you see what looks like a ghostly shadow of Tidus leading her out. Also if you get the good ending, you see Tidus come back and be reunited with Yuna. If you get 100% completion there is an additional scene where Tidus explains his theory on being brought back.
Yeah, it always really irritated me that they never said his name, even if you left it his actual name >.< It also bothered me that you could change the main char's name in FFX. Then it brought forth a whole big argument of how his name was pronounced lol. I prefer to pronounce it Tie-dous considering his name has something to do with water and the tide (that's what I read however)As for if Tidus had ever met Shuyin, no I don't think so.
SPOILER
Tidus was only a dream of the fayth and he never was around the time when Shuyin was. Tidus's looks was based off of Shuyin's template so it can't be possible that Tidus and Shuyin have ever met.

Well, on the name pronunciation, I was wondering about that too. Then I thought back to KH on Destiny Islands. If you talk to Wakka on the second day, he'll say "Me and Tidus, we're gonna do a little explorin' today." Or something like that. And he pronounces it Tee-dus.
As for the Tidus/Shuyin thing, I wouldn't know anything.

Then again Shyuin was only there when Zanarkand was going to be destroyed, and Tidus was in Spira in the future

I got so fed up trying to get 100% complete that I just had to cheat to get the ending. The ending wasn't even that great. It def. isn't worth all the hours you play to see it. Then I got curious and thought there might be more, so I searched up endings on youtube and sure enough there is an additional ending where Tidus and Yuna are talking in Zanarkand.
And I always prnounced his name Ty-Dus. Just sounds like the best way.
