I hate it it's crap, and it actually defies the story of X seeing that Lenne and Shuyin lived in Zanarkand 1000 years ago while Tidus lived there, and actually the villain is crap dresspheres are just stupid, Blitzball is crap too they ruined FFX with this game. D:

It's alright for me.The story wasn't that fascinating to make me love it but I did like some dresspheres(they were flashy).

I have to admitt, X-2 was one of those sequels that, like many movie sequels, tried something new that totally disagreed with the first installment. I loved X and thus when I heard about a direct sequel I was psyched. Then I saw some of the official art and heard a little about the story and was turned off. The characters I came to know through X would never wear those outfits and the story didn't sound too promising. So I didn't buy it when it came out but instead waited to see the reviews and such. I even went so far as to spoil some of the story for myself to see if it was worth it.
Eventually I rented it and got the "good ending." After all that I decided that I liked and hated it at the same time. Some of the new characters, seeing what became of the some of the old ones and the story to some extent was nice but many things like certain characters' change of character (especially Brother who was waaaay more normal in X albeit still a little different), some of the costumes, the lines that were corny (don't get me wrong not all the dresspheres and lines were OOC), and way the X-2's story pales in comparison to X's brought the game down in my eyes.

I liked the game. I thought it was a different take on the other FF games. i like it for it's individuality. I like some of the dress spheres. I actually spent hours teaching all my characters everything they had to learn i think it was like 112 hours when i had completed it. But on my first go i only got 87% completion. But i didn't think that was bad for my first attempt.

I agree. Many dressphere's were weird or didn't suit the wearer.
I especially hated how Rikku had so little clothe on.

>> i could care less about this game. I wish it had never happened. I want to play a rpg game not a girls dress up game. *shrugs* I just did not like the fact that you have to pick different outfits just to have different moves is all.

I've grown to tolerate certain parts of the game -- the glimpse of Auron, the bits with the Crimson Squad aren't too bad, and the music videos are fluff but appealling -- however, the one thing I cannot forgive is that Square-Enix decided that in order to make a game that appealled to female gamers, they had to dumb down Yuna and Rikku, make them giggly/pouty teens, remove most of their wardrobe, and make game mechanics depend on clothing and accessories.
EXCUSE ME!?!
Can we PLEASE not assume that all girls want is BARBIE and Sailor Moon costume changes? I do not play video games to accessorize. I play video games to save the world, enjoy a good story, angst the good angst, and open quantities of whup-ass against bad guys. Gimme my ridicuously oversized sword and/or AK-47, mmmkay? No earrings needed.
And I'm sorry, but having main characters who say things like "oh, poopie" and "disasterrific!" is a huge let down from speeches like, "YOU WILL PAY FOR HIS DEATH."
Equally superficial, but I like my epic with a shot of irony; hold the sugar.
