A Shuyin and Tidus Theory - Page 3

A couple of days ago I remembered a theory I had about Shuyin and Tidus. The theory is this -

That Tidus was the fayth's memory of Shuyin.

Before we start shouting I'm crazy (which I am, but that's besides the point XD) here's why I think that.

The Zanarkand Tidus was from was a dream of the fayth, and it was made of the fayth's memories of the past Zanarkand, therefore Tidus would have been one of their memories as well.

Shuyin was the one who was real, the one who was actually the Blitzball player. If he was well known and famous for playing Blitzball, then he probably would've been remembered, if not that then he would've been remembered by the fayth for what happened when he went to Bevelle to save Lenne.

Their personalities are highly similar.

Granted, in X-2 Shuyin was angry and vengeful, but his spirit has been left to build up that anger and hate for 1,000 years after he and Lenne were killed. But the similarities come when it comes to their relationships to Lenne and Yuna (though it's really hard to say since not a whole lot is actually revealed about Shuyin before he was killed). Both women that they loved were summoners and well loved by the people. Both Tidus and Shuyin were bound and determined to save them no matter what it took, knowing that Yuna and Lenne were both facing inevitable death. Only thing with this is that I don't think Tidus would have tried to use Vegnagun and sacrifice millions of lives all for Yuna. Only thing I can really think of about that one is that the fayth are trying to remember something from a thousand years ago, and as such memories fade or blur so they can't always be accurate.

Their Overdrives are the exact same.

Sure the Overdrives may have had different names, but they were the exact same. I don't really see the logic in Square Enix giving the same Overdrives to two people who are supposedly separate characters.

Their clothes are almost the exact same.

Again, the fayth's memories might not be entirely accurate since it's been 1,000 years and memories fade. But the fact that their clothes are similiar is also very strange.

the way i saw it was that Tidus is an exact copy of Shuyin, however, the dream got his own emotions, he was totally not like Shuyin,
Tidus had emotions of his own, he was not anything like Shuyin, Tidus is emotionally weaker, not as confident, and he would never want to blow up the whole fucking world(note that the inconfidence was when he was still in Zanarkand, confident in the blitzball sphere, but inconfident outside of it... eventually he build up confidence while traveling as a guardian) that's where they differ, looks and fighting style, exactly the same(with a few changes, hardly noticeable), but completely different emotions, i think i also heard somebody say something like that, the dream got his own emotions, i could be wrong, but didn't the Fayth who dreamed up Tidus (the one from Bahamut, little boy with a hood over his head) come to Yuna and told her it's possible to get Tidus back, somewhere in the end? maybe i just dreamed it while sleeping, but i did seem to recall something like that
he also explained what Tidus was, he got his own emotions... becoming a different person

and one last thing, the emotions Tidus got, were not dreamed by the Fayth, they were made by Tidus himself, i have no idea how it happened, but well, i'm just a stupid person

i like this idea but where does jecht come from? is he shuyins dad? or the fake shyuins dad (tidus)

Ah yes, the theory is kinda like what a friend of mine was saying last night. And I do agree too. See, the point is, when we dream of someone, we must have interacted with that person. I think Shuyin and Lenne somehow interacted with the Fayth, although it doesn't necessarily have to be deep interactions. So later, when they died, the Fayth had a dream and that's when Tidus come into play.

Tidus is a totally different person from Shuyin, although they both looked alike. The Fayth probably just remembered what Shuyin looked like, that's why Tidus is created in the same physical sense. Tidus is a physical manifestation of the Fayth's dream as such he, living many years after Shuyin, has different experiences, turning what would have been a close copy into a separate person.

As for Yuna and Lenne, their similarities are due to the dresspheres, but I'm sure everyone knew that. =) Lol I actually thought there might be some reincarnation going on in my previous post. Shows how much I pay attention to a game...much less remember it. =/

EDIT: Ooh, something that my friend pointed out as well: In the beginning of the game, when Yuna starts dancing after defeating that first battle, the Fayth kid says something like, "That must've been the last thoughts and memories of the previous wearer"...not exactly the same quote, but you get the gist. The thing is, when Lenne last wore that same exact dress that Yuna was wearing, Lenne had died! So, how would you explain the whole quote? I mean, Yuna was dancing and happy, right? Lenne's thoughts or memories were far from happy when she died...right?
