| Final Fantasy VIII The first game in the series to consistently use realistically proportioned characters, FF8 also threw more of a futuristic mix into the old (Hi-)potion that is Final Fantasy. |

You know that castle room where....
You know that room in Ultimecia's castle where the paintings are at.
They each say something and then at the bottom floor, there's this large painting that gives you some sort of riddle or whatever.
I tried so many things, and I failed so many times, now I'm just curious.
What exactly does solving the thing do?
Is it even worth my while?

I remember the paintings having something to do with a clock.
Don't they have numbers on them?
EDIT:
Yes, I just looked it up.
You have to solve this puzzle in order to unseal one of your powers.

Oh, that's all...for a while there I was thinking secret GF.
But is it really all that important to unlock this thing then?
P.S. I'll try to post 2 quick ones to avoid the dreaded 666 number now

Um, you do know that when you first enter Ultemecia's Castle, all your abilities are taken away from you, right? (Item, Magic, GF, Draw, Command, Limit Breaks, Resurrection, and Save.)
So when you guys solve the puzzles and defeat the bosses, you can choose to unlock any abilities that you find useful. There's 8 bosses in the castle, so if you want to unlock all the 8 abilities, defeat them. And if you failed to draw a GF from the earlier Bosses in the game, you can actually draw them from the Bosses here - just unlock the Draw system first.
Anyway, back to that painting...from the Art Gallery, (view the paintings) climb the steps to the right. Then view the 8 paintings on the 2nd floor. Go back to the 1st floor and view that large painting. Examine it and enter:
a. Vividarium
b. Intervigilium
c. Viator
You will then face Trauma and if you don't have the GF Leviathan, you can draw him from Trauma. After you defeat him, you can unlock another ability. You get to choose what ability, so choose wisely. And that's all there is to it. There's other mysteries to solve in the castle, so I suggest using a guide as it can be time consuming.

And by the way the riddle translation is this:
Vividarium et Intervigilium et Viator
which means:
In the Garden sleeps a messenger
And as already explained you fight Trauma and unlock one of the sealed commands!

The message is "Within the garden lies a messenger."
So as Jimmy said, find those exact pics and enter those words to guess the name of the painting.
But here's my advice on Trauma. Guy can be a real bitch with those little wingnut things, so draw Meltdown from Trauma and cast it on him. If you need any further help with FFVIII, pm me plzz. It would be a pleasure to help.

All right.
I'm not gonna do it right now, but do you have any tips on beating that dragon thing up top on the castle towers?
I tried to beat it once, couldn't.
Even though I did have GF and magic on.
Do you guys know what its weaknesses are?

His name is Dark Bahamut
His one atack is Dark Flare which can cause serious damage!
But you can beat him before he uses it!
Use Irvine Fast Ammo and Zell Duel limit break for some good damage you´ll beat it in a round or two believe me
Have good magic junctioned with your Streght so it gets above 200!
