| Final Fantasy VIII The first game in the series to consistently use realistically proportioned characters, FF8 also threw more of a futuristic mix into the old (Hi-)potion that is Final Fantasy. |

I'm not fond of FFVIII at all :/
But to make this short, my main complaints that ruined the game for me were:
A.) The junction system. I got the hang of it, and know how it works, it's just too much of a pain in the ass.
B.) Drawing. That got real old, real fast. Most of the time I didn't use magic unless it was 100% necessary cause I didn't feel like going back and drawing it from somewhere, and I didn't want my stats to drop. Ruined magic for me.
C.) Most of the characters.....I just truly did not enjoy the cast at all. Only two people I liked were Seifer and Zell. Rest just seemed un-important, boring, annoying.

I agree the cast was kind of shallow.
Squall had absolutely no personality at all.
If you ask me, the perfect personality belongs to Zidane.

I agree with you actually xD Zidane = <3
I found Squall tolerable (but still boring) at the beginning but...once he did a complete 180 in about the blink of an eye........eeesh. Wanted to throw a brick at him xD

Omg he was ALL over Rinoa's dick at the end of the game! He's such a wreckless teenage character! >__<
Rughhh! At least Cloud was able to maintain himself, and he had a REASON for being so melodromatic all the time.
Squalls crying was soooooooooooo unbearable. lol.

1. Boost. Using Boost to power up the GFs ruined my life. The worst part was when I'd get the power up to about 160 and suddenly the little red "x" appears over the finger, I've already pressed Square again, and the power has dropped all the way back to the bottom. No. Way.
2. Draw? I like the Junction system, so naturally I have to like Drawing magic to use for Junctioning, right? Eh. I like using magic on FF games (I think they have great magic effects), but because I was always trying to keep 100 spells for maximum Junction effects, I couldn't use magic that often. They tried to make up for it by allowing us to use GFs (and their abilities, such as Recover) repeatedly without a penalty, but I still miss the magic.
3. The Ragnarok segment. Wow, that was annoying.

Honestly, I've never fully played through 8. Back when it came out my friend and I would alternate buying games 'cause we couldn't afford them all the time. I bought and played 7, he watched, he bought and played 8, I watched. I'm definitely planning on snatching my friends copy and playing it for the sake of playing the last FF I have to play. =) (I do remember this being our least liked FF, but nothing paticular comes to mind)
