To anyone who thinks there should be a sequal to 8, game or movie

I think a FF8 movie should be made it had a great story line and terrific charaters.

Personally, I'm not as fond of the idea for an FF8 movie. I did like Squall's character, but only at the beginning; not near the end. I find that there wasn't enough interpretation allowed in FF8; we were lead to believe that it was nothing much more than a love story, which could potentially be a red herring for the whole concept of time and relativity. It simply plays a larger part of the story more so than in the other Final Fantasies, and for that, I would not like to see another movie on it. I want a movie to be done on a game with good plot and story. FF7 and FF6 had it for me because there was some ambiguity in FF7 that allowed for interpretation, and FF6 was very quotable. FF8 I felt had less of those. A good movie cannot be good without a good storyline. There was a particularly good reason for FF7 being made into a movie, and that is that the conclusion was open ended; we were left to our own devices as to what happened, and we ask ourselves what would happen in the future. The movie answers that for us, yet leaves us biting for more in the end. With FF8, we come full circle, and there seems to be really no other reason to elaborate on an "ending".

i dont agree. FF8 had a good storyline and there is always the posability that a new evil sorceress could come up. Take rinoa for example squall said that if she ever were to end up like that again he would take care of her himself. The story of that would make a good movie. I know that if they do make more FF movies none will replace FF Advent children but it would still be a good movie. FF8 would still be a better movie then a FF9 movie.

Now about FF6 i didnt like how they did that because its the same as FF3 jus better graphics a movie of that would be stupid.

hey if they can make a sequel to ffx and a movie to ff7 the can and should make a movie for ff8,. i mean squall is cool and i say somehow the sorceress's power somehow finds its way to seifer and the gang has to fight Warlord Seifer for the last fight.

Like I said, the love theme and genre has been so overdone already that I don't consider it special anymore. If it has anything to do with Squall protecting Rinoa in some way, it's not anything I'd consider interesting. Other than that, I can't see how it could be a good story.

FF6 or FF3, whichever you prefer to call it, may have been redone as a game, but that doesn't mean it can't be done as a movie just because it had better graphics in a subsequent version. That's irrelevant. We are looking for a game that has all the necessary components: a good plot and storyline that can be blended into a movie, good characters and multiple themes. There were multiple themes presented in FF6, which I thought would be worthy of attention.

I'm torn. I would love to see an FFVIII movie made, simply for the sheer excitement of another FF film. On the other hand, I agree with Sephiroth. The entire film would be based on the pathetic love story of Rinoa and Squall (I do, however, love these characters). Any outside Sorceress that comes into play would be second rate compared to the love story.

Unless Rinoa was possessed again and turned on Squall...

hey if i remember the ff7 movie was about protecting the world from devastion from sephiroth. and there r alot of movie with rotecting the world. so another love story wouldnt hurt but remember it wouldnt be just about protecting rinoa.

I know that it would probably be just like another adventure maybe about ultimecia returninbg or Edea turning evil on her own or something like that
