Final Fantasy VIIIThe first game in the series to consistently use realistically proportioned characters, FF8 also threw more of a futuristic mix into the old (Hi-)potion that is Final Fantasy.
The junctioning system was pretty good in my opinion, and instead of leveling up, I just stayed in the mid-20's and junctioned 100's of Ultima's, Full Life's, and whatever else you can think of to my high powered stats.
Sure I leveled up eventually to boost up my Guardian Forces, but for the most part, I tried to stay at low levels.
The only redeeming difficulty factor that FFVIII has I believe, is the fact that the enemies level up right along with you characters progress. No matter what part in the game you're at or how strong your guys (and gals) are, the enemies will always be levels higher than you.

I really enjoyed being able to make a character in your party a power-house just by junctioning a bunch of GFs to them. By using the Darkness technique i was able to deal 9999 dmg to even the last boss.

Lol… I enjoyed the small rant. XD
The system was overpowering in areas, but still enjoyable in my opinion. It made excellent use of your GF’s by integrating them into most of the battle system and in my opinion; it never became dull, boring or repetitive.

Meh, I think that the summoning of any GF's was fairly useless besides Cerberus.
And I agree, the draw system made the game damn easy. Hell, once you get Siren and L-Mag refine, you get Curagas and that pretty much makes you invincible for a good bit. xD

But all of that's what the point is not. The point's that's there ain't no romance 'round there.

Yeah, the junctioning system is easily the most abusable ability system in the series. As soon as you learn the magic refineries you don't even need to go through the annoying task of drawing magic. It amazes me that there are people out there that struggle to beat the game when you can easily beef yourself up and kill bosses with a couple of limit breaks.

Very easy to go through, especially if you know what your doing. Just junction the right spells and with the right GF's the game because ludicrously easy except for certin boss fights. Mainly Norg and his pods which take like no physical damage, and all the boss fights in Ultimecia's castle. The only boss's that actually press your abilities to stay alive in the game.

I get why VIII is easier in some ways, I do like the whole junctioning magic to stats thing... The only complaint I have is that personally I think X is better with the sphere grid. Mainly because it's easier to get around and gives you a higher sense of achievement, but also because it makes every character relevant. VIII isn't like that. You only NEED 3 characters and not because they're special even, because you can junction switch... it just loses some of the individuality X's characters have. That's just my opinion.
