Well, this is my preference.
I love FFVIII as much as I love IX.
But VII still takes the cake for me.
But like I said, FFVIII I love because the storyline is really great, character backgrounds aside. The battle system was unique and the draw system was somewhat burdensome, especially when I run low on magic, but overall VIII is a 9/10.

1999 I was 11 years old I had dics one in my little hands
and put in the grey box of happiness and then the intro started
the words,the music,Rinoa in the field and Seifer and Squall sparring
I never forget that moment even after all those years it still make my heart heavy. it was one of the first RPG I played and the first FF
may not be the best in the serie for ohters for me it is
and maybe there will be better but FFVIII will always be in close to my heart and mind when ever I think or talk aboout FF

VIII is IMO one of the best X is up there to.. never played VII but people say its good. But hey, can't forget the originals I enjoy IV, V and VI aswell..
I enjoy IV, V and VI aswell..
