they could try and remake them as demos to see if people would even want or buy them.

But they would still be remade wouldnt they? Perhaps the reason it hasnt been done is because SquareEnix thinks its a bad idea. Or they possibly are listening to some fans and making new games instead of remakes and sequels.

in all honesty, there really is no need to remake it for ps3. it would be kind of over kill. maybe re-release it on psp or something, but to put it on the ps3 with better graphics is just not needed.

I don't think there's enough demand for it. Right now, it's all about the 8 and 16 bit remakes, as well as all things FFVII. If they did remake it, please god get rid of the junction system and the enemy leveling up with you thing.

I say that some people would like to see FF8 on PS3 because they have a PS3 and some people do'not have a PS3 but it up to the people who made FF8 and if they make on 360.

Nah, if the did that the world will end with FFVII:1,2,3,4.....
I don't think that they listening to the fans or giveing 'em a crap coz if they did that every1 will try to make his FF and put him self as the main hero!
Actually I think the study how many FFVII,VIII....copies have been sold and then they make the remake and the sequals, like FFX it was a great game until they made FFX-2 and ruined it!
So I think they'll make a remake for FFVIII 1 day but I don't know when?

For the sake of graphical improvement and visually inspired orgasms, then yes, all PS1 installments should be remade. However, I think in all realism it'd be a cheap act on Enix's behalf to remake them. As mentioned prior to this, it'd just be for the money; not because they re-invented anything to become spectacular.
Plus FFVIII sucks balls in comparison to the others, so that's another reason not to re-make such a game.
