There isnt a difference as far as Im aware, its basically the same game. You dont get any extras as far as I know. I say just get it for the PS1 as thats still avaliable to get. I thought the PC version had been discontinued.

For the simple factor of being able to control the PSX version better, I'd obviously go for that. Nothing wrong with the PC one, apart from what I've just mentioned XD If you don't have a controller for the PC; uh-oh!

I played only the PC version. I say it is better since you can improve the graphics but goodies end here. The game sucks with the keyboard...but after a while you get the hang of it. But the most annoying thing is that if you own a GeForce 6000 or better(or the ATI equivalent) you won't be able to play it(some annoying black blocks appear on your screen and in the config window it will say that you do not have 8 bit paleted textures).
So if you have a high-end PC then forget about the PC version.

That's why you buy a Computer Controller. They're located in the electronics section of your local superstore or Radioshack. ;D
I have to say, I love playing my games on the PC. I can usually turn of the PC game's music and play my own music for the background music, which is pwnage.

Or you just use a xbox 360 controller and hook it up to your PC.
Definitely PC version, mainly because you can upgrade the graphics with packs and you can edit the files alot easier to mess with the textures and such.

I would say PSX. Personally, I just love PSX. I don't like playing on the PC as I don't like to stare at the screen for such long periods of time, especially that close. o.o I'd like to be able to sit back and relax while playing.

i'd say it depends on personal preferences. if your more of a platform gamer, then get it for the ps1. if you prefer the pc, get it for that. i know FFVII was a big step down on the PC compared to ps1, but i cant say i know anything about FFVIII.

Both are pretty much the same although the audio seems to sound better when played on the PSX, but for the most part there really is no difference. However, if you're a die-hard PC gamer, I'd say get the PC version, if not, stick with the PSX version.

PSX. That way, you won't have to deal with any glitches and annoyments.
