Is there any way to stop Squall from becoming far more powerful than the rest?
As I play FFVIII, Squall inevitably becomes far overlevelled compared to the rest of the party. I know I can make it so other people get the killing blows in battles, but is there another way? By the end of disc 1, Squall almost always has 10+ levels on the rest of the characters for me.

Kept Squall KO'ed and only revive him as and when you want to level him. Only way I can think off the top of my head.

rinoa always seemed to get strionger first in my party O_o

Erm....try not junctioing anything to his strength stat that should help and make sure you have 100 junctioned to the other 2 party memebers

If you want the others to be the same level as him, either keep him KO'ed as Moonchild said, or, I'm not sure if this is in FFVIII, but in FFIX and VII (I think) you can get hit by a status effect that stops you gaining Exp, just keep Squall inflicted with that...if it's in the game.

Why your party splits up, you could spend time leveling the party that Squall is not currently in.

And like Moonchild said, keep Squall ko'ed for a long period of time.

There is no "real" way to stop it. Not one that isn't time consuming and/or less boring as you play through it.

Eventually, I just say screw it and convince myself that I will make Squall a god and win the game with him.
