How Dumb Am I...?
After playing through this game three times I think now, I just realized that Julia-the singer from the Deling city nightclub who fell in love with Laguna but married General Caraway-was Rinoa's mother.
I mean, did everyone pick up on that pretty simply? (You find out in that conversation between Kiros and Laguna at the beginning of the second disc)

actually the answer is very.
It is incredibly obvious that Rinoa's mother, Julia was in love with Laguna, and he with her.

It's not that obvious unless you go over documented shit in the synopsis area of the game, really. I never knew until my second playthrough.
But then again, I really play for the game. I hardly care about the characters most of the time as long as they look y'know... Not freaky. like Quina.

Only at the beginning of Disc 2 did I finally get it, and that just gave it away anyways.
In my first play through, since I just went through the main story, I didn't know that Laguna and Raine got together until the ending CGI, and only my second play through did I realize that Squall was the child of Raine and Laguna
Of course, I made the effort to talk to the characters in my second and following play throughs, and who'd a think you'd get a bunch of info when talking to Laguna and co on the Ragnarok in that small window of time?

I got it the first play through as well. There were hints here and there, but I believe I found it official during Disc 3 or 4 when I checked on Balamb Garden's study panel and read through all the documents there. It talked about Rinoa's mother dying at a car accident when Rinoa was only five years old. Of course, it didn't actually mention the name "Rinoa" as she was referred to as a "little girl". But from there it's really pretty obvious if you put things together.
