Final Fantasy VIIIThe first game in the series to consistently use realistically proportioned characters. FF8 also threw more of a futuristic mix into the old (Hi-)potion that is Final Fantasy.
If I don't believe in him, why would he believe in me?

I always thought Ultimecia was said 'Ul-tee-mee-chee-a' but I agree with Jesse about the Edea pronunciation. I felt that these are really old names and that's why IMO people pronounce it wrongly, but that's what Final Fantasy has some references to right? The past? Like Ur and Canaan and the times of Abraham? /srsly off topic, sorry
fyi, This is Kelly's post that I copied cause I could not be arsed to write it over the same way she has it. I did change a few things, but we basically say the names the same way
"The moment man devoured the fruit of knowledge, he sealed his fate...
Entrusting his future to the cards, man clings to a dim hope.
Beyond the beaten path lies the absolute end.
It matters not who you are...
Death awaits you."

I'm not really sure why everyone thinks Kee-stis sounds odd but Kwis-tis doesn't. They both sound odd, but Kee-stis seems easier to say, and to roll off the tongue just a little more naturally to me. Everyone is different thought. No voice actors so you can pronounce it however you want.

If I'm not mistaken though, Amarant, the proper Japanese pronunciation FOR Quistis' name is Kee-stis. That's why you see so many people pronouncing her name as such.

Kee-stis sounds AWFUL, I don't think I'd ever catch myself reading text and thinking Keestis has just said it...that honestly sounds disgusting haha. Kwistis sounds so much better.
Anyway, we should know how to pronounce Squall and Seifer based on Kingdom Hearts, as well as Zell, Irvine and Selphie from basic English. I'm a but fluid on how to pronounce Rinoa, though...Rai-noah/Ry-noah, Ree-noah, Rin-oah...the first of which sounds the best to me.
Ultimecia: I go for Ul-tih-mee-see-ah, as opposed to Ul-tih-mee-shah, though the latter sounds like it's more likely to be correct.
Ray-gin and Foo-gin, I KNOW that's wrong though but I don't know how...I've been set in my way for years so I'll probably never go back anyway haha.

It would be easy to declare that Arcturus Mengsk was a master manipulator, which he was, or that he reguarly deceived others, which was true as well. But it would be a mistake to deny all personal responsibility for falling in to his web. It seems now the height of folly ever to have dealt with the man, but think of the situation when the Sara system died. You had the mindless beasts of the Zerg on one side and the unholy fury of the Protoss on the other. And in the middle you had the criminal bureaucracy of the old Confederacy of Man, which was willing to write off the population of two planets in order to learn more about its enemies. With such a surplus of devils in the universe, what did it matter if there was one more?
