| Final Fantasy VIII The first game in the series to consistently use realistically proportioned characters, FF8 also threw more of a futuristic mix into the old (Hi-)potion that is Final Fantasy. |

Yes it was the final boss, I was low levelled , first time playing the game and all I had left was Rinoa, it was pure luck with amazing timing!

I'm pretty sure it's happened to me. Don't remember the exact details though. But I remember that I had a lot of close encounters on FFVIII where I seriously thought I would die any minute, and all of a sudden some miracle happens.

Well in the fight with Ultamecia, your party is picked at random. I don't remember the specifics of it, but I know that in all my FF8 games, my party is Zell, Irvine, & Squall. I don't ever really use the girls. Anyways, in the fight with Ulti, I think I started out with Zell & Irvine (no Squall) and one of the girls. As soon as I lost one of the guys, I immidiately lost the other, Ulti took out the girls very easily. When Squall came in, I remember he had the Item command, and I was gonna use a Holy War off the back but Ulti got an attack in that took me down to 1 HP. The Holy War kicked in & the rest was history, and so was she.

Heh, that's why it's a good idea to level up all of them. I did that and I wasn't worried too much about my party.
