I start with Quezacotl junctioned to Squall along with Shiva. When I get Quistis I dont bother junctioning anything to her unless I know she will be with the party for a while (like when she is forced too). Other than that, Zell usually has Pandemonium, Ifrit, Brothers,Doomtrain and Bahamut. Squall had Diablos, Cerebrus, Queazacotl, and Eden. Rinoa is usually using Shiva, Eden, and a few others like Cactuar and Leviathan, depending on what i'm doing lol.

Squall has always had Diablos, the others I was never so fussed about tho lol. I know right at the start I always give quistis Shiva so she can do the summoning on Ifrit while Squall just attacks.
I also try too make sure everyone have the same junctioning abilities, or at least not haveing one person being able to jct everything and the other char can only jct to spirit or something

We all do , pity you can only max your main party, not enough GF for all

You can just switch them between party members so I don't suppose that really matters much, although I do remember thinking that when I first faced Ultimecia

Selphie has Diablos and Carbuncle
Zell has Quezacotl

if i can rememberi think that my character had
squall thunder
zell fire
quitis ice
and the rest would just be randomly clicking gfs to players
i thought tht the elements matched the characters perfecdtly as in zell is quite firey and easy to taunt
, pity you can only max your main party, not enough GF for all
