I really can't remember the set up, every time I played the game I had a different set up. One thing I know for sure is that Ifrit was with Zell

Lets see....I've always had this set up: (I'm going to sound sexist....)

Squall - Quezacotl. Squall seems to be the type to have the summon and a thunder elemental guy.

Zell - Ifrit. The way Ifrit looks and his elements seems to fit Zell.

Quistis - Shiva. Female summon with a female character.

I cannot remember the rest. I try to mix around summons between the main party. I never had Squall junction Edea though, it seems like a waste on him and he is already powerful enough with Lionheart.

I think mine always went:
Squall: Shiva
Quistis: Quescottle
Zell: Ifrit

The rest of them kind of went randomly from there. If I remembered to get Siren (which half the time I forgot and then had to kick myself....) then Selphie would get her.

I don't remember the exact setup but I remember Squall had Shiva, Doomtrain, Diablos and Bahamut. Selphie always had Ifrit, Carbuncle and Alexander (switchable with Irvine). Zell had quezacoatl, Siren, Cerberus and Brothers (switchable with Quistis). I don't really remember the rest.

Squall always has to have Quezacotl at the start, its compulsary! Shive with Quistis and Ifrit with Zell..after that they get mixed around to suit the junction needed for the area.

Squall get Ifrit and Diablos because of the strength bonuses and Mug

Zell gets Quezacotl because...

Shiva goes to Quistis / Selphie because...

I always have Squall with Ifrit, Zell with Quetzacotl and my third character with Shiva. Bahamut normally goes to my third person and Eden always went to Zell. Squall would often get Diablos and other str based ones like Brothers.

i think i kept Ifrit, Diablos, Doom Train and Cactuar on Squall
Quetzacotl, Brothers and Alexander with Zell
Shiva, Siren and Carbucle on Rinoa
I sadly didnt get bahamut or Eden cause i had to format my computer before i had a chance to finish the game. Would like to start it up again actually.

Well, for me, Squall and Quistis would either start of with Quezacotl or Shiva.

Squall would have Quezacotl, because they're both male, whereas Quistis would have Shiva because they're both female, and the 'Ice Queens'.

But sometimes it would be the other way around. Squall would have Shiva, as they both begin with S. And Quistis and Quezacotl begin with Q.

Ifrit would either go to Selphie or Rinoa, and the others, I just jumble around.

Thats all the same for me, I have Quezacotl junctioned to Squall through out the whole game.Then When I get Rinoa, I junction her with Ifrit, and Quistis with Brothers or Shiva. Then whatever other GF's I have I junction to them as well.
