| Final Fantasy VIII The first game in the series to consistently use realistically proportioned characters, FF8 also threw more of a futuristic mix into the old (Hi-)potion that is Final Fantasy. |

Link21, that just shows you couldn't be bothered to use the Junctioning System at all. I hated it first time round, but second time round, I put effort into using it.
Seeing as Atra is a Prisoner, I would have commented on the rather vague post, but decided not to.

The summoning system was good the only thing i didn't like was that i ended up depending on the summons to fight most of the battles (except the last boss fight squall toke care of that)

You shouldn't have had to. Implement magic correctly, learn sufficient skills, upgrade your weapons - BAM, using summons, you wouldn't have to do all the time.

I used to too, but then I realized that juncioning multiple GF that had upgraded abilities, and crafting a new weapon or two made the characters in your party power houses.

I loved the fact that the GFs learnt new ablities and Boost was one of the best features used IMO. It was a good summoning system.

I found the summons here the best.
7 and 9 provided the Summons as an attack but little else outside of that
, X provided the summons as great weapons but not as much 8, In XII i hardly use summons.
The stat increasing and ability gaining power the GF's had in 8 is far and away the best use of Summons i have used in a FF game.

I like the summons being in materia in VII. I hate the system in twelve.

Well 8 having the best summon system thus far is true in my opnion.
1.The GFs gave amazing abilities (Recover, Juntcion, MUG!!, etc)
2. They played a part in the story(the memory loss of everyone)
3.There out of Battle Abilities Were Just As Usefull
And as for junctioning magic making everyone to strong, the only way taht happens is if you sit around in an area and just draw tons of magic to make it that way. on a regular play through that game i can make it all the way too esthar before my guys are even dealing 1000 with a physical attack.

It was unique and different, I agree with that. I thought it was pretty clever, but I almost want to say that you're forced to be TOO dependant on using them. Of course you need them junctioned in order to use any other command besides attack, but magic to me seemed only useful in junctioning and nothing else. Physical attacks are weak until magic is junctioned, atleast for a majority of the game. You pretty much HAVE to use a GF to kill enemies. It gets kind of old summoning and boosting over and over. Again, I liked this new and different system but I'm bringing in another point of view.

I agree with you on that point. I mean my attacks were damaging enemies around 500, but with the GF it was almost triple of that.
