yeah to be honest, i think he had the feelings for rinoa long before he started showing them. it almost seemed like a love-at-first sight thing for him (she was the only person who's hand he shook). seems like he just hid his feelings by shunning her, or acting like he didn't like her. typical.

I agree the most with AG. It was quite sudden and too drastic for my taste and it was hard to trace when Squall actually liked Rinoa the way he did in the last 2 discs.
But other than that, the rest of his development I thought was worked out pretty well.

I agree with the love at first sight ideea. When Squall reunited with Rinoa again on the train base(yeah..there in her bedroom), Squall's feelings for her became stronger.

remember squall was into the whole tough guy persona. All the stuff he said to himself was what revealed that he was starting to fall for rinoa. He just didn't want to admit it to himself, that is why he commented on everything that she did or said at first. as he gradually came to accept his feelings there were less comments on her actions.

yea he did change pritty dramatically but you have to know how you feel about someone when jumping out of a spaceshuttle trying to save there life(not sure which disk it as on)

Yes he did it was completely pathetic the way things happen...one day he does not care about Rinoa and then on the next day he only thinks about saving her...i think that's the worst point of FFVIII.
