Your thoughts on Sephiroth - Page 2

I thought he was a good character, but not for the reasons most people think he is. He was a tragic character. One event that was a complete misuderstanding is what lead him to do the things that he did. If Shinra had sent someone else to Cloud's home town, then FFVII would have never happened.

I don't think he was a badass. Cloud was always stronger than he was. It was proven when he easily over took him in Niebelheim and then later at the end of the game.

All Sephiroth really accomplished was buring down a town, murdering several in the Shinra building, and killing Aeris.

Kefka destroyed the world.

Kuja started an entire world war while wearing a thong.

See, I guess everyone has their own opinions on Sephiroth. Perhaps he is a little overrated in terms of a villain. There are other, more terrifying, more iconic villains out there. But, in terms of popularity, everyone has to admit that Sephiroth is the most popular. Perhaps not to them personally, but in the fandom as a whole.

I liked Sephiroth. He's probably my favourite villain, equalling Xemnas. Was never too fond of Kefka... his freaky laugh creeped me out. Kuja did rock, I will admit. He needs more love out there. X3

He's a wuss,bad hair,stupid Sword,Sissy and Stupid....thats what I think when any1 mention Sephiroth.

I can't say I ever thought little of Sephiroth and his ordeals. But as a boss, he sucked too much ass. Way too over-the-top if you ask me. Also, I thought the prospect of fighting him while he used the masaumune, in his standard human form, was far more intimidating than that colourful crap you first encounter. Safer Sephiroth was only slightly intimidating for the music, and the fact he had a wing for an arm. It sucked.

As for the personality, I'd say he made a pretty decent villain. Revolutionary for then, but he'd get old fast if he came into the scene now (as something new).

I like to compare him with Anakin Skywalker. He stands for a lot in the game but he truly was a let down at the end. He lost my vote when he murdered Aeris anyway so why should I stop now.

Kuja is dead, Kefka is dead, all bad ass villians of FF are dead....but Sephiroth, tho dead, can still come back. He cannot be truely defeated. Face it, He'd kick your arse for sure.

You see those words dont really GO with sephiroth - they fit the FF8 villains PERFECTLY though:

Edea was a goth chick but when she was un-posessed she was all like "oh my children can you ever forgive you dear old matron" NOT Cool
Adel was a manbeast - 6-pack and everything
and ultimecia just appeared randomly,
Most people were dissopointed with the FF8 villains as they didnt hold a candle to sephiroth.

Kuja was a guy in a thong - but hes very forgettable
Kefka - one of the only FF Villains to acheive what he wanted - this makes him cool but his insanity and laugh make him lose the cool silent thing that Sephiroth had

Seymour - was just gay - and he talked too much - but he had awesome hair

and it was interesting for a villain to use diplomatic immunity

So the FF villains cycle goes :

Sephiroth>Kefka>Seymour>Kuja>Edea>Adel>Ultimecia

None of the above villains (except kefka) Have had the long lasting effect and legacy upon the gaming world - which sephiroth has - thus why sephiroth was unanimously vited the #1 villain of all time,

where were the other FF villains on that list?

They werent.

I rest my case.
