Who was it? (Possible Spoiler)

In Midgar after fighting the 2nd boss air buster, you fall down into Aeris's Church and you begin on a black screen with somebody talking with cloud. Who is this? Are they in clouds head or did they just talk to him before he wake up?

Im not positive, but i THINK it may be Sephiroth, communicating with Cloud in his mind, which he does have the ability to do from his point in stasis.
