no kiss
how come in some final fantasys characters who havent known each other that long can fall in love (sqall,rinoa tidus,yuna) but cloud and tifa who had known each other since childhood havent even had a kiss yet?

Because it's meant to be left up to the player on who Cloud loves, Aerith or Tifa. Him kissing one of them would kind of ruin that wouldn't it?

Because Tifa loves Cloud romantically and he only loves her as a friend, therefore, it would be awkward for them to kiss.

If you're speaking soley of your own opinion then, no, you're right. 'Cuz, i dun't care, that's what you want. But like AG said, it's left for the player to decide. the LT will never be solved in the game/movie/books.
............Cloud will never officially get laid.

Well, I'm a bit late to say it, but, it is all up to the player, so there can't really be a kiss in the game, but Aerith is dead now, so for future pieces of the compilation of FFVII, Cloud doesn't have much of an option, huh?

Not necessarily Zaiku. I mean there are about a billion other women in the FFVII world  Not that I'm saying that he won't get with Tifa in the future...
As for why they never kissed, kissing only makes games a bit cheesy... Quite honestly, I don't want to see a a long make out scene between two characters and I'd rather see a more subtle romance.
As for Cloud and Tifa...
They actually did not know each other for that long. When they were kids, the two were not actually child hood friends and did not really know each other. The first time Tifa ever really spoke to Cloud was probably at the well.
When Cloud arrived in Midgar it was only a few days before FFVII actually began. So Cloud and Tifa were really just getting to know each other in the game and Cloud much more was getting to know him self.

Or they could just choose to leave him single, Cloud doesn't need a lovelife.
And future pieces of the compilation? I doubt they will make anymore games set after DoC, so as always it's left up to the players opinion.

Oh yeah, I wasn't really thinking about new characters, and the only other person would be Yuffie, but I can't see that happening either.

Heh, I overlooked that as well, it's just that most FF games that come to mind, the main character always is in love with somebody,
VIII- Squall and Rinoa IX-Zidane and Garnet (I think that's her name)
X-Tidus and Yuna
I mean, then again, traditions don't need to be eternal, so Cloud could be solo. And no games after DoC, I am thinking there might be one or two more, I mean, we can't forget Sephiroth's famous quote:
"I will never be a memory..."
But I digress... |

Well, I base my opinion on Cloud's lack of compassion toward Tifa. Even when she sat by him while he was in a coma, or helped him get onto the Highwind in the crater, you never see him tell her thanks or anything.
