Why do some people call Aeris Aerith? can someone tell me?

Aerith is her japanese Game - Aeris is a mistranslation, but the S and the TH sounds are interchangeable in japanese so her name is always pronounced like "Air-ris"

Yea, she is Aeris in America but it was because of a mistranslation. Seems like they'd kind of pick up on something like that... a main chracter and all. Anyhow, I think I've heard that even though her US name is Aeris, they're just going to call her Aerith anyhow and pretend like it never happened. Although I guess the pronounciation won't change.

yes in jap Aerith is pronouced as Aeris... thats why, but i prefer calling her Aer - ith rather then Aeris... dunno why, just thought it sounded better to me really

Aerith is pronounced - AIR - ITH ....(pronounce the ITH bit more)
Aeris is pronounced - AIR - EASE (as in, i did it with 'ease', AIR - EASE)
Both sound different, but mean the same character.
