i would also like to draw a parallel to this and the recent announcement of the split of the last harry potter movie into two parts. This is something the fandom has been asking for, a longer movie and now we got two movies for one novel. However no that we got it their has been complaints that the only reason WB has decided to do this is for financial gain and that the are whoring out the series. once again why complain that your getting more, even if they are doing it for financial gain. You will never see SE or WB do anything not for financial gain, so get over it.

How does a remake mark the end of the FFVII compilation? Advent Children and Dirge of Cerberus took place after events in the original game.
that r not possible

1. If your idea of "good" new content is half-assed shit like Dirge of Cerberus, you have some really low standards.
2. I'll damn well bitch if I want to. I'm the gamer, I'm the one buying the products, and I feel that SE is taking the easy way out. I hate to see them ruin a once-good game and rely on VII and Nomura for easy sales.
3. I like VII and the FF series. It's because I like VII that I hate the compilation.

lolwut?
Of course companies make things for finacial gain, but they are pushing this too far. FFVII is gunna end up hated not fondly remembered like it once was.
And for the record, FFVII is my favourite game and it causes me great emotional anguish to see it continually bastardised

dont agree with me, fine.... but really, what odds does it make. People keep buying these FFVII games so they'll keep making them until the ultimate end to the compilation which is a remake of FFVII...

They could have just remade the game, and points like A and B would have been easily satisfied. But not every Final Fantasy VII fan has been satisfied by everything the Compilation has to offer.
Lol, calling people childish pricks. How rude.

But the thing is, the books were established far before the HP movie releases, so the fans have certain expectations when they go into the theater. When it comes to Final Fantasy 7, there are no books to take from, so what Square-Enix is doing is taking a very good title and expanding on it so much, it's becoming obese. It's good to try and make an epic storyline, but a decade after its release and in so quick a succession? It's simply ridiculous.
And as far as the insult goes from Shyne only a childish prick would call someone else a childish prick, especially over something so silly as a game.

I personally have no problem with the compilation, but that is because a) I didn't get into gaming until about a 3 years ago. b) I didn't get into Final Fantasy until about 2 years ago. c) My first game in the Compilation wasn't FF7, it was the added titles Advent Children and DOC.
I can understand why people are so upset about Square milking FF7, because they are, but it doesn't bother me as badly as someone who played the game when it was released 10 years ago. I started with this new stuff, and that's why I like it. To a newcomer to the series, it's not that bad at all. I understand though that if I had played the game and loved the mystery left after the ending, that I would hate all this new stuff they are coming out with, so I'm not going to bash any of you guys for it. What is happening, I believe, is that FF7 has been turned from an older game for an older generation, into a newer game for the newer generation. FF7 is gaining lots of popularity now with people my age, while losing popularity with those that liked it in 1997. I'm not sure if that's what square was trying to do, but it is definately what happened.
Whoring things out, whether it be games of movies, isn't that new though right guys? Almost every disney movie as a 2 or 3 sequels, and now that is being done in the game world. The Little Mermaid came out in 1987, but that didn't stop them from making a sequel to it in like 2002 (prob not exact date) did it? It's just the way things go, and some people are always going to hate it, while others are going to like it. It has already been decided that FF7 is going to be milked for the next 10 years, so their's nothing anyone can really do about it.. Unless you decide to not buy any of the merchandise or something.

okay, everyone just calm down a little, no more childish prick type comments please.
I'm not happy with the whoring they've done of FFVII, Vincent only got his own game because he has an army of fangirls, it's sad, but true. However, I like to pretend that the only things that exist in the compilation are FFVII, AC, and CC, everything else, I just won't buy and pretend it doesn't exist.
I don't see how they can possibly whore the game out any further after CC, but if they wanted to, they'll think of something, maybe some crap like "Airship races with Cid!" for the DS. But, I won't buy them, and can continue to pretend that they don't exist.
A remake is the only thing after CC I would be remotely interested in really, but even then if it contradicted the original game, I'd pretend it never happened.
