Help defeating Baralai
Well, you've got your information. I get battered every time I face him. I can cope, but then he uses looming glacier on Rikku (always her), and she loses her MP and recieves status ailment X that stops her from moving, and I have to battle sans White Mage, which is simply a miserable failure awaiting to happen.
Any help and/or tips?

The Piggyback guide is somewhat vague regarding any useful strategies, however I'd suggest using the likes of Power Break and Armour Break. You can keep using Power Break to continually reduce his attack power until he hits you with an equivalent feather to his staff.
If you have a Dark Knight dressphere handy, equip it to at least one character. It hits hard, and has a decent defense to withstand his fast-paced onslaught. Also it might be time consuming, but switching around Sphere Grids for strength/defense upgrades would benefit you greatly.
Have Haste at the ready to counter his Stop and Slow status ailments, and hopefully you'll pick up a pace of your own to nail him before his uses harder hitting skills.

I tried Power Break, but can I use it multiple times?
Will Haste cure stop, and what do I do when my White Mage (Rikku) gets blasted with Looming Glacier?

I believe you can use similar such techniques to reduce the relevant stat by 10 - thus the character being able to use it with effect 10 times. It'll most likely help you considerably from what I can ascertain from your problem.
The guide is saying it'll cure Stop, but you'd be safer using a Remedy or something to similar effect.
Looming Glacier's effect wears off over time I think, so... you may not have enough power behind you to survive his attacks without a White Mage should Rikku be inflicted with the status. Just knock him down with Armour Break in preparation for such an occasion so you can lay some serious punishment on his HP when you're desperate.
Alternatively, spend time training another White Mage. ;D

Cheers.
Don't lock yet, please mods, lest when I return to the game to play I encounter more irritants.
This thread is now lockable.
I'm not sure what it is that I did, but somewhere in between training, spamming on Power Break, and using remedies, I prevailed, also getting Drill Shot for my Gun Mage (Yuna).
