a remake will be pointless except to squeeze another bit of money from the wilting ff7 franchise. if they do remake it you can guarentee that the game WILL be a change from the original. the main story will be the same, but with new or different sidequests. i realise that people would love 'ff7-with good graphics', but i just can't see why the fans of this series would see it butchered like it has been.

final fantasy 7 was a classic, it should have been left there. i mean imagine oliver stone saying, 'yeah, platoon was good and had a good ending, but i won't be happy until i make as much money from this as i can. i know, i'll make a remake with todays actors.'


imagine how good back to the future or Rocky would be without the sequels.

I would love the guys at square-enix to remake this game, because it is already my favourite game of all time and improving the graphics can only improve the overall game. Don't get me wrong, i'm not a graphic whore, quite the opposite, but to see all of the best bits from FFVII, the motorbike chase out of Midgar, the weapons, in graphics such as the type we've seen from Advent Children would be fantastic. Looking at it in a business point of view, Square-Enix would be mad not to bring a remake out. Millions of FF fans are scattered across the globe, if youre looking at how many people have actually ever played this game, you may even be looking at billions. FFVII opitimised the success of the FF series and such is the way of The Simpsons at the moment, brand loyalty will make this game large profits. If they do it right, the added incentive of attracting graphics noobs will make Square-Enix huge profits.
I am looking forward to playing this amazing game again, even if it turns out to be terrible, if we get to see Cid yell "Shit" on the Highwind in the final cut scene, then i'll be more than content

The only problem is the fear of Square "fixing" some of the holes in the story, I actually quite like how you don't know everything

so as i said im all 4 a ffvii remake as long as they do ffviii and mabe even ix too...........as any proper ff fan knows ps1 ff's were the best and in my opinion no ff since has taken away any of their harsh graphicall glory.
