Mistwalker is the right company... Trust me... It's pretty much all of the awesome people who left Square when it became Square-Enix.

I really think that Square will make a remake for the PS3, I mean, they better for crying out loud!!! lol. As much as I love FFVII I really hope they do. I'm getting a PS3 this christmas, so I'll be looking forward to it .

I think that video that came out was maybe just something to get people talking about FFVII so people would buy DOC and CC etc

I'd like that but I'm not sure about 3 CDs being merged into a single cartridge hehe...

Technically, it would be very difficult, impossible even. But the full potential of the DS hasn't been realized yet, so maybe. If you're looking more for capability, then the PSP would be a better option.

Also, I wouldn't see the point of porting it to the DS unless you somehow incorporated the touch screen into the game play, and not just to walk around the world map. But, on that note, FFIII achieved admirably in this area.

Finally, I really wouldn't like the idea personally, and I'm sure many would agree. FFVII has been milked for far too long - we should leave it to rest starting from now, in the hope that any respect gamers have left for this title will be undiminished after Dirge of Cerebrus.

But still... it would be nice, wouldn't it?

Mind you, the FF title SquareEnix is working on just now for the Wii sounds interesting. Might buy it to take a look, which just goes to show how I've been sucked into that type of thinking too.
