The comilation is just the set up for the remake, you can see this horrifying putrid collosall mess comming from a mile away.
And why would Square make a tech demo for a game that they are expanding on just to see what it'd look like on the PS3?
And I've seen a pic of Cloud in battle from the PS3 version not shown in the tech demo or Advent Children.. You can probably find it on google.

I didnt read all the replys to this thread, so excuse me if I said something that has already been stated.
I think, honestly, that a remake will be made. I HOPE for the PS3, but there really is no way to tell. Shit, a remake on the PS2 would sell extremly well, it doesnt really matter if its for PS3 or PS2.

I don't know why SE doesn't just go ahead and make a remake of FF7 and just add a little more extras in it. The game would sell immensely well since it will entice players who haven't played the game on PS1/PC before AND it will make the hardcore gamers (us) come back and go buy it again to relive the magic.
Eventually they will make a remake for it though. But they should do it before their fanboys grow up. I completed that game when i was in the 6th grade. Now im in college.
Also now would be a perfect time to release it since this marks the 10th anniversary of Final Fantasy 7

i would like to see a Remake of FFVII inder a few circumstances :
They DO NOT change any of the storyline
they DO NOT add anything as a reference to AC
They DO NOT change any of the LTD lines or sides.
But what i would like to see:
skippable summon animations
More optional bosses
Make it harder
Aeris to die at the end/OPTIONAL (Thats the key word) Revival side-quest - but try to keep the ending the same

i also want them to keep the original way sephiroth goes into the reactor - him being flung in by cloud - as opposed to LO were he jumped in  if they made him jump in again i wouldnt be pleased.

An Aeris revival sidequest... come on I know you're a fan but you couldn't really say you would want that, do you? Not like they're going to do it... but you really wouldn't want that, right?
