Cloud never did really seem to lean more toward one girl than the other, did he? Actually, he did just enough to keep them on their toes. Which means only one thing.

Yeeeeeeeeeeah and don't be a playa hata! But still, let the fans enjoy the pairings. Let them have fun with them, embrace them and enjoy them without other people chucking a spaz about it. There's nothing wrong with and I think it's just bloody ridiculous when people debate and fight over it. Besides that, they're just pixels. (Hot pixels mind you, but still just pixels ^_~....or you know I just had a thought. Cloud doesn't like girls. Cloud has a thing for Zack and is just holding out until he gets to the lifestream xDDD)

Before Crisis Core:

Even with just VII to look at, it was apparent to me that there was something between Cloud and Tifa. There was a romantic tension that was ever present between the two until after Cloud regains his true memories and then the tension is transformed into a mutual recogntion of love.

Aerith always seemed a bit distant to me (which was explained in CC) and there never seemed to be any true romanticism between her and Cloud.

After Advent Children came out, it became obvious to me that Cloud loved Tifa and not Aerith. It was clear by the end that Cloud was simply racked with guilt over what happened to Aerith and the fact he couldn't save her. It never even hinted of a romanitc longing coming into play.

After Crisis Core:

It is now extremely apparent that Cloud and Aerith was never truly going to happen whether she lived or not. The interactions and chemistry between Zack and Aerith were so intense that it was apparent they loved each other (the final chapters are so telling how much so). It is also much more apparent that everything romantic between Cloud and Aerith in FFVII could be attributed between Cloud's initial aquisition of Zack's personality and even memories. The lengthened sequence of the escape from Shinra manor really set up how Cloud and took Zack's personality as his own, Zack talked to him continually about his life and Aerith.

This game just cemented, in my mind, that Aerith reacted to Cloud because he resembled Zack near perfectly at points... and also the fact that Aerith became involved because a near identical circumstance (MINI SPOILER-----Cloud fell through the ceiling just as Zack had done). It also became obvious to me that Cloud's possibe romantic feelings were mere shadows of Zack's love. Zack was so intense and vocal in his need to return to Aerith during the escape and Cloud's mako induced state that obviously Cloud would adopt part of those feeligs along with the other aspects he took from Zack.

These three stories (or one conected story) all point to only one possible outcome: Cloud and Tifa, Zack and Aerith.

I am a supporter of Cloud & Aerith, because Cloud finds her attractive, and he accepts her offer of a date. He could have said "No, gimme money", but instead he acts as a bodyguard. Yes, remains of Zack's love may have played a part, but mostly I think it was the date in the Gold Saucer, with Aerith telling Cloud things about herself that she wouldn't tell anyone else, ever.

He couldn't very well ask her for money, could he? Consider, she's in the slums, so she doesn't have money on her--if she did, she'd probably get mugged for it. And I don't think he's going to ask for the clothes off her back because--despite his odd cross-dressing urges--I don't think he'd fit in them.

Or would he?

I think that Cloud likes Aerith more than Tifa, though. In AC if Cloud were to truly meant to be with Tifa, the ending would've just been him smiling at Tifa. Instead, Aerith, who is already dead!, once again reappears and the last scene is with her. And I don't think Aerith seemed distant to Cloud at all. O-o Cloud seems to be able to express his true feelings to Aerith(telling her he wants to be forgiven) more easily than with Tifa, who is always asking Cloud, but he never gives a direct answer. And in FF7, dating Aerith is easier than Tifa =)

eh i personally like the cloud/tifa better... aerith just butted in out of nowhere and started to flirt with cloud while she knew tifa had feelings for him

I kinda think that Cloud goes with Tifa than Aeris. Cloud's feelings to Aeris could've been Zack's feelings, while Tifa and Cloud had already a very long friendship (and maybe more), dating back to their childhood years. Maybe Aeris was a very good friend to him, but I think that's as much as it goes.
