FF7 Spin-offs

Now that I actually look at the FF7 Sub-forum descriptions, why are all of these spin-offs being developed for mobile phones and other useless systems? Would it kill Square-Enix to make non-jank games? Then again, I've never played any of the extra games, so I can't really say if they are/would be good or not... but something about playing part of the FF7 compilation on my phone just doesn't seem... appealing.

Thoughts?

I just wouldn't even go there on a mobile game, my battery doesn't last long enough

I can't imagine they would be any good at all. If they are gunna go mobile, they might aswel just go handheld

Indeed. It's hard enough to text on phones let alone play full-fledged games on them. I think doing that would reduce the epicness of the original game. That's why I think all important games should be on actual consoles.

I never understood how they can release games for cell phones. Shit...the screens are usually way too small to be able to clearly show what's going on.

mobile phone games are just 'spin-offs'. They're nothing more, nothing less. They're not supposed to be epic.

can't say if they're good though, because in the UK we cant get hold of most of the stuff they have over in Japan

I just think it's silly. I think that all mobile phones should be used for are games like bubble breaker and solitaire. I don't like the PSP or DS either, although Final Fantasy III DS was entertaining for an hour or so. Maybe I'm just a console fanatic or sommat.

Pfft, I can't even play the default games for the cell phone, much less try to play more complex games like FF7 spin-offs. I guess they don't care that we would get sore thumbs after all.

i do agree with you. Mobile phones are good for tetris and not much else in my humble opinion..

Playing FF1 & FF2 is amazing. Graphics, beautiful, its just a great little console. Crisis Core is amazing, can't wait til the English version gets out, cos that'll be even better.

Anyway, rant aside, consoles are always going to be better for epic games for hundreds of reasons.

As i say, we both know that you wont really get epic games on a phone, they just dont have the memory like a cd, dvd or blu ray disk has. (give or take some of the newest phones with hard drives in them lol)

Well, if I can't play the spin-offs on the mobile devices, then I feel as if I'm missing out on parts of the FF7 storyline that I want to know. True, I could just read it online, but that's never fun... I think they should re-release the games in some sort of compilation disc for a console. True, it would be a mega long game, but it would bring in way more money than these pitiful excuses for spin-offs. xD
