Flowers in the slums
Flowers don't bloom any where in the slums but they have no problem blooming in the church and at Aerith's house, why is this? Is it something to do with Aerith being an Ancient? If so why are they still there after her death?
I know her precence is still there in the AC an' that so would that mean they will die eventually? Seeing as she left with Zack at the end. Anyone got any interesting theories?
I don't know why I just thought of this but it always made me wonder lol

I think Aeris hordes her own excrement, using it as fertilizer in select areas around the slums. Oh! More. Once she dies, there's no one left to continue fertilizing the earth.
That's my best guess.
The Ancient thing is a nicer theory.

I remember Mark mentioning something about her flowers flourishing at the church in one of my threads.
I shall quote him:

That makes a lot of sense to me, so I'm sticking with that explanation.

I don't remember any healing water *tries to think* That would explain it really well if I could think where this water came from

@Frisky: After Kadaaj does his scream "mother/kaasan" and escapes on the fallen pillar from the church, the water gizer thing falls gently onto Cloud, ridding him of his geostigma on his arm that he hid from view from the others. You hear Aerith's voice saying something like "let's go, Cloud".
Since Aerith pretty much finished her duty, helping Cloud get rid of his guilt, I would think that the water eventually disappears or at least lose their restorative power when Aerith crosses to the other side with Zack.
The water was basically for the purposes of the geostigma, which did eventually get eradicated.

The healing water comes up from underneath the flower bed after Kadaj blasts it with energy, showing how the water is mixed with the lifestream. This shows both how the flowers were able to grow, since the lifestream would give, well, life and how the water would be able to cure the Geostigma.

the Church is a holy place so flowers will grow there, it's a sign of hope & life...
the slums are run down and everyone is depressed, so there is no flowers there
simple.

I was thinking it was in the game & thought I was losing my mind lol. Only seen it twice and I don't have the greatest memory in the world. It certainly explains it tho

I always thought that it had something to do with religion and how the flowers were blessed by the Ancients and whatnot. But now that I think about it, Mark's explanation makes sense. I just never took the time to mull over why the flowers would be there, but they were pretty sweet for Advent Children.

The healing water explains why they were in the church, but it doen't explain why they grew at her house as well... Maybe she moved some of the flowers from the church to her house, and because they had been in the same soil as the healing water, they were able to grow?
