Reviving Aeris would be dumb...plus with all the years she as been dead her body is probably decomposed already.

At the very best they could make a story before FFVII took place...

But bringing Aeris simply wont happen thats just a farytale her fans like to tell themselfes over and over again.

Not a good idea. Aerith's death was one of the important events that happened in FF7. If she's revived then killing her in the first place doesn't make any sense. It'll make me ecstatic but even so its not a good idea.

I think we're running in semantic circles. You said that making a game about Aeris before she died wouldn't harm the integrity of the original plot. My reply was to say that the original poster was strictly talking about reviving her and no other kind of plot.

why is everybody arguing? all i said was that i thought it would be INTERESTING to see what would happen if she was revived. i never said i wanted a new video game, or that i wanted to take away the importance of her original death. jeez, you guys are way too serious about this.

I think it should stay that way. What about Zack, let's bring him back too? remeber what Sephiroth said: "I will never be a memory" that means he will be back. So if SE brings Aerith back Cloud will have to look after her all the time because she cannot defend herself. By the way since she's in the lifestream, won't she turn into a bird or something? I mean there's this cicle going around giving life and everything in it. ya?

She can't be revived, though that's a bit of a red herring. Reviving Aerith post FF7 makes her death basically meaningless in terms of story impact.
A game set before FF7 would not be a revival, and would be alright, provided it was a good game in and of itself.

Maybe a game set in an alternate timeline where cloud became a turk or something and you play as cloud 'the turk' of which the final part is to collect aerith on which you see what you've been doing and join her. so that way Aerith doesn't have to die and it can end like you escort aerith to the temple of the ancients and the final fight can be sephiroth.

some of you guys don't seem to understand my simple thoughts. all i want is something set maybe a couple months after AC, where aerith is revived by some mysterious force, and her and cloud and the others reunite. no matter how stupid of an idea some of you guys think it is, i'd like to see it and thats just that.
