Weirdness with Learning Limits
(Ok I didnt know if this was the appropriate place for this)
Hmm sometimes while I play Final Fantasy 7, I sometimes "skip" limit breaks. Here is what I mean:
For example: Lets say Im using Cloud and I just used Blade Beam and the battle ended. Instead of learning Climhazzard, I learned Meteorain and went to Limit Level 3 instead of the second Level 2 limit, Climhazzard.
Also when limits are "skipped", you cannot learn your limit level 4s because you havent learned all of your previous limits. (Trust me, I tried. Will not work.)
Has anyone else encountered this during gameplay? I skipped these:
Climhazzard
Hammerblow (And I think Mind Blow also. Cant remember)

There is nothing weird about it. To learn the second-level limits, you must stay on that level until you learn it. For example, in order to learn Climhazzard, you must stay on Limit Break 2 Blade Beam, and use that quite a lot in order for Cloud to learn his second-level limit for level 2. If you have Cloud set to any other limit break level, he will not be able to learn Climhazzard under any circumstances.

Dude I know how to learn limits, I beat the game like I dont know how many times. I had it since 2001. I meant like I would go straight from Blade Beam, to Meteorrain and it wont learn Climhazzard. It just skips it completely without any chance of learning it. And I tried. I stayed on it for a week straight on Blade Beam. Wont learn it.
Now sometimes I learn them all when Im suppose to. But it skips them like rarely. Happened 3-6 times total out of a zillion play throughs to Omnislash attempts.
Im gonna research on this. Think I found a solution but gonna investigate.

You have to kill a certain number of enemies in order to get your first Limit Level 2 and 3 Limit Breaks. In order to learn Climbhazzard, you must use Blade Beam about 6-9 or so times. I don't know the exact number but keep on trying. If it doesn't work, there might be a glitch in your game.

It skipped a few times on my files aswel, no idea why but I never moved up to like the level 3 limit until I learned both the level 2 ones etc. Never really had a problem with it tbh O_o

Yeah, I've done this a few times myself. It's really strange. ;o I don't know the reason behind it, either; so I can't be much help in that area. I'd just stay on that level until I learned the missing break for it. Eventually I would.

This always happened to me the first time I played the game until I realised you had to stay on the same limit level area to learn the rest it took me some time to figure it out aswell which I'm embarassed to say

Here's my synopsis of Cloud's Limit Break Levels:
Limit Break Level 1:
Braver - Initial Limit Break
Cross-Slash - Obtained by using Braver 8 times.
Limit Break Level 2:
Blade Beam - Obtained by killing 120 enemies with Cloud.
Climhazzard - Obtained by using Blade Beam 7 times.
Limit Break Level 3:
Meteorain: Obtained by killing 80 enemies after obtaining Blade Beam with Cloud.
Finishing Touch: Obtained by using Meteorain 6 times.
Limit Break Level 4:
Omnislash: Well, you'll see it eventually.

This is a bit of a late post, but i've heard rumours of Glitchs like that where it doesn't learn limits and you therefore can't get the lv 4 limits for that character.
Only thing i suggest is just don't save over a file once this has happened?
And the above schedule for limits seems about right, just limit limit limit, kill kill kill.
