as much as you describe it i cant imagine Aerith being an evil person - the plot would be completely and totally changed then - who would oppose sephiroth? who would summon holy? who would save the world from Geostigma?
Aerith was always intended to be a paralell to Sephiroth - and i think that it would have been more interesting if that was expanded into a sibling/lovers relationship too

The planet it self would summon holy to aid Cloud and the others, Aeris would pretend she obeyed Sephiroth but she then would steal the black materia for herself and use it´s power to transform into a mutant form!
That´s great fiction right there!

That's true but Shurly he would at lest have a resin for killing his own sister and if so he hopefuly would have a talk with her and save killing her for a last resort.
That's rediculas. How can you justafy turning someone like Areis into a monster!?
If Areis herself where to ever read what you said here she would be volcanic!!! She would slap your face clean off for saying that!

I don't think the love triangle between Cloud, Tifa & Aeris would develop. Second, I would've thought that Aeris-REBORN would take place where Jenove Sysnthesis would be. You know, instead of fighting Jenova you'd fight Aeris.

Humm yeah i understand what you´re saying...but then Jenova would have to die in the 2nd CD as Jenova Death right?
But let´s see if Aeris-REBORN was in fact an enemy boss she would have to be in league with Sephiroth because she would actually be protecting him like Jenova did!
And i think that in order to make the story right Aeris would have to betray Sephiroth.

Well she could try to betray him(kill him) but fail and have her will be dominated by sephiroths just like Jenova.
