This was the second Final Fantasy game that got me hooked onto the whole series. I think it was a great old school FF and deserve to be titled as one of the best.

This is definitely one of the more-often favoured Final Fantasy's of many fans that I have seen on lots of forums, magazines and et cetera. I'll prefer this over Final Fantasy VII any day. The story was superb, and I loved the 2D graphics. Out of the first six FF's, this is top of the list. Out of the Playstation titles, I find this more enjoyable than all except IX. It's a little unfair to rate it with any of the further titles, though where 'Fun' and 'Replay-ability' is a factor, this game would still rise to the top of the pedestal.
I'll never be able to forget how great this game was in its time, and it's a shame that the new generations of gamers, and those thereafter, will most likely never get to experience the adventure of Final Fantasy VI; and moreover appreciate why so many people spoke it's name with a passion.

Final Fantasy VI is about third on my list. It is a great game, but first and foremost is easily Tactics. It has a deeper, more adult storyline than any of the games, plus it allowed for customization in your own characters. The main characters of the game also had tremendous story put towards them, to the point where you feel for Delita and Ramza and their plight in the land.
Second is Final Fantasy IV. I played this game so long after Final Fantasy I and I fell in love with it immediately. The characters, the story, the gameplay...everything about it was so well done.
Final Fantasy VI is a great game, but my only fault for it is that after the floating continent, there is no story. The second half of the game is basically "collect your party members and go fight the boss". I also didn't like the esper treatment. Almost all the characters ended up with all the magic, so they felt much less unique, compared with the Final Fantasy IV characters which each had their own place in your party.

FFVI imo was a very close second to FFVII.
I absolutely loved every minute of this game from beginning to end.the characters, the story, the world, the towns, villages, everything was just so perfect.
The story between locke,celes and terra was perfect and done in a much better way than the love traingle of FFVII.
and this game had the most awesome villain of all time.
a villain who actually got everything he wanted, before he was overthrown.
kefka = sechs
