Anyway, my vote definitely goes to Locke… He just seems more appropriate given the events of the game.

I never really saw VI as having a love triangle. I think it was obvious that Celes was going to end up with Locke.

Although I think she would have been best with Edgar. For some reason I just see their personalities being quite compatible with each other.

There is Locke/Rachel/Celes love triangle and I would have seen Locke with Rachel and Celes with Edgar. Setzer might have suited best with Terra.

I think that Celes x Setzer would be my favored pairing. They're both my favorite characters from the game. And then again, I have my own crazy little obsession with Setzer...>.>;

I really think Locke has this one. He just seems to care for her as herself, even if he may have at first used her to replace Rachel in his mind and heart.

Actually, you could say that he belongs with Celes, because he once used her as a substitute for Rachel. Going off of cliches, it was to be expected that Celes would then help Locke get over Rachel, and then learn to love Celes for herself. Thus, in epic-plot-world, since Celes helped develop Locke's character, she must be his true wuv.

I think Locke would end up with Celes, Setzer would end up with a non-main character; and Terra would likely end up with Edgar since he expressed interest in her when they first met.

I think it's fairly obvious that CelesxLocke was intended to be the canon relationship in FFVI. Do I think that TerraxLocke and CelesxSetzer could have worked under different circumstances? Yes, but Locke and Celes clearly have a thing for each other. I mean, finding Locke's bandana restored Celes's will to live, first of all. Really, that sort of thing speaks for itself, if you ask me. Not to mention the opera scene, during which Locke is drooling over her, and the fact that they pretty much become instantly infatuated the moment they first see each other.

As for Celes reminding Locke of Rachel...I'm not so sure that that's entirely true. Personally, I just think that Locke just feels guilty about falling for Celes because he doesn't want to feel as though he's replacing her. His feelings for Celes are genuine, but at the same time, he's afraid to move on and probably feels a bit bad about not being there for Rachel. Really, Locke is probably confused, scared, and guilty about all that's happening. Nevermind the fact that he's currently intertwined in a battle to save a dying planet. That doesn't exactly leave him with much time to focus on his love life, now, does it?

And, when you think about it, how many CelesxSetzer moments are there in the game? He always struck me as something of a flirt, so the fact that he hit on Celes from time to time was never anything special to me. When it comes down to it, she might've been just another pretty face in his eyes. The fact that she reminded him of Maria was just icing on the cake. I'm not going to say that there was absolutely nothing there, but whatever feelings there were between the two was completely one-sided on Setzer's part. Never once does Celes indicate that she prefers him over Locke.

If you take Locke out of the picture, I think CelesxSetzer could potentially work out. However, CelesxLocke just has so much more...substance, I suppose. Its hints were common and pretty obvious at times. The two show what could very easily be considered genuine interest in one another which would surely turn into something special after that whole "stop the apocolypse" ordeal.

I think Locke, as soon as they met each other they connected. It helped that Locke was the one to save her which gave them a bond. And Locke also helped Celes through the times she felt low in herself
I think Terra is the kunda person to be single while setzer is just a womaniser which means he just goes from one to another breaking hearts
