Fun SNES Glitches...

Okay, so I have an interesting story to share. One time, when I was playing FFVI again, something happened to the SNES... the TV went all weird, I replugged my SNES controller... and I looked at my inventory...

I had at LEAST 99 of EVERY ITEM IN THE GAME.

Including Gem Boxes, and rare items...

Not to mention, I had millions, and millions of gold... many millions... However much can be in the game, I had. It was an amazing glitch... So great, I beat Kefka in record time, with everyone equipped with Ultima, and being able to cast it twice. Epic.

Yeah, early editions of FFIII for SNES especially had tons of available glitches/bugs (even the later versions still had lots)...Psycho Cyan, Relm's Sketch, & Vanish+X-Zone/Doom are probably the most well known. My first playthrough I encountered the Relm's Sketch bug, but I ended up not saving because it scared the **** out of me...It's also been known to completely **** your save memory...So, yeah, I stayed away from that one...I never spammed Vanish+X-Zone/Doom until much later after finishing it (my first playthrough I never even knew about it, hell, I didn't even know about Desperation Attacks!). I've never had a reason to try out any version of Psycho Cyan...but I'll have to see it sometime, I guess...

Wait: Vanish + Doom is a well known technique to kill enemies and bosses, knew it and used it sometimes. I never heard of it being a glitch... I've also never heard of Psycho Cyan or anything with Relm's Sketches... what's the story on those?

relms sketch thing is hard to do....yeah i tried it haha
have gau and relm in your party get gau to leap and when he comes back sketch him

alot easier apparently

OR

you can sketch a vanished monster

and it can either go good or bad =\
Good: lots of items
Bad: lose your game save

never tried cyan thing iv seen it a couple of times tho its gooood

make him use sword tech retort cast imp on him and kill him, revive him and he goes insane...atleast i think thats how u do both of them

there the only ones i know

and i wouldnt advise doing to relm sketch one lol

Well, I may try both... I'll make multiple saves though so hopefully it only effects one save. I wanna see what this looks like!

Yeah, Vanish+Doom/X-Zone is a bug because it makes instant death moves work on monsters with immunities to instant death moves...>_>

There are a couple ways to get Psycho Cyan (the GBA version is different, I've heard)...But mostly it involves using Retort, using Imp/Kappa on him, killing Cyan and then reviving him...Then (after anyone performs an action) he basically attacks all targetable enemies infinitely because it bugs w/the code so that he ends up countering his own counter attacks.

Relm's Sketch trick was just using Sketch against a Vanished monster. It even screwed up w/sprites, really...In the battle I used it in, for example, I believe either Leo or Kefka's sprites replaced a couple of my party members and maybe a Moogle or Imp as well...I no longer remember...but it also gave me a shitstorm of items...

There's also an Equip bug, which causes the game to allow you to equip items at the wrong places.

And a Evade bug in which the game completely ignores the Evade stat and instead uses the Magic Evade stat for physical attacks as well as magic attacks.

There's a bug associated w/the Ripple skill (which is an enemy skill/Memorized tech that the Leech Frog and Black Force enemies as well as Stragos can use) that exchanges all status conditions, including Tina's Tranform status and Shadow's Interceptor Guard instead of only applying to normal status ailments.

Another one I've heard of is the "Return to the WoB" glitch/bug, which, like the name implies, allows you to effectively return to the WoB...I forget if you can actually still do anything, or if it basically kills the game after a certain point, I never tried it...It involves not killing one of the rats in the Opera House, fighting them in the WoR, and losing to them, which is supposed to take you back to the Opera House scenario as if you failed to save Celes...I don't know how true this one is, actually...
