Valia Pira...
Just wanted to know if many people decided to surpress its powers, and if that made it any more of a challenge? I've never done it myself and wanted to know the difference it makes, if any.

Hmm, do you mean that if you pick up all six Bloodstones, will it be easier?
Actually yes, the boss will be much easier as it will not have as many attacks. If not, then the boss will be tougher.

Yer, I'm talking about the bloodstones. Has anyone actually fought Valia Pira without surpressing his powers? How is he more challenging?

Well no, I mean I heard that the boss itself is already easy to begin with, but if you find all the bloodstone, then it'll be twice as easier. I don't think he's that much of a challenge...but he does have high HP which can make the battle lengthy, and some of his attacks can be intense, so make sure you keep your characters healed.
Other than that, I don't think he's THAT special of a boss.

The bloodstones just increase his general stats to a higher level, naturally. The difference becomes substantial, but it's nothing a series of Reflects and Dispels wouldn't sort out. :p
I never bothered fighting him without removing the bloodstones though. The items are far too good to leave behind.

You can battle him without taking Bloodstones?
Whenever I came to last candle without picking at least one Bloodstone I can't lit it, but when I get all Bloodstones I can lit it.

ive always collected the bloodstones so i aint sure how hard he is with them. But without them to 'power up he is ridiculously easy, he has only a few attacks, which do very little damage
