ultima weapon

no matter what i have done and no matter where i search even with a chocabo i cant find the ultima weapon for the main charactor. does anyone know how to find it?

You first need an Ocean-crossing Chocobo. You then need to have the correct Chocograph in your possession, and search for it specifically. If I remember correctly, it shouldn't be all-too far away from where the Chocobo Cave is (the alternate place where you can play Hot & Cold).

That's all there is to it really. You'll dig it up eventually.

Once you've collected all the Chocographs, there are points on the map known as 'hotspots.' These appear in the form of cracks in walls, or bubbles in the ocean. Some of them are hidden however if I remember correctly (which I probably don't).The Ultima Weapon is located at the hotspot directly where Shimmering Island used to be, but I think it may be a hidden one. Go directly to the centre with your chocobo (in the ocean). You have to line up the cursor directly on top of the spot on your map. Then use a Dead Pepper, and you should get it.

If you look on your world map, and get yourself on an ocean chocobo, and go to the exact point where the shimmering Isles were, and dig there. Also, the Chocobos Paradise chocobos tell you other secret stuff.

Akane's Guide to get all ultimate weapons.

Zidane:
1. Get Choco to Gold and find all chocograph locations.
2. Go to the EXACT location of where the shimmering islands used to be. You have to be ultra-precise and keep checking the full map for this one.
3. Feed Choco the dead pepper and you should get Ultima Weapon for Zidane.

Garnet/Eiko:
1. Go to Quan's Dwelling.
2. Once there, use a Dead Pepper.
3. Voila, Tiger Racket!

Quina:
1. Catch 99 frogs.
2. Fight Quale and win!
3. Quale will give you the Gastro Fork after. (I actually find this one of the easiest..)

Vivi:
1. Go to Memoria.
2. Climb up the ladder with the fiery planet.
3. After climbing the next ladder, go north west and you should find a '!' sign. Press X to get the Mace Of Zeus.

Steiner:
1. Get through the entire GAME in under 12 hours!
2. Defeat Lich in under 12 hours.
3. Examine one of the columns until you find a '!', and you should get Excalibur 2. This is the hardest weapon in the whole game to get. Personally, I don't think it's really worth getting it, because you're not playing properly.

Freya:
1. See Zidane's Zidane
2. Head to the crack northwest of Oeilvert.
3. This crack's invisible, so it takes a while to find. Eventually, you'll get Dragon's Hair, Freya's Ultimate weapon.

Amarant:
1. Go to Memoria.
2. Before you go up the stairs and Tiamat, go search left until you find a '!' at the foot of the stairs.
3. Press X to get Rune Claws for Amarant!

There. That should do for anyone asking where is this ultimate weapon. (Yes, I know that I've kinda went too far, but it's helpful.)
