Exactly, I mean if they didn't have those then I can only imagine how many items I would have missed. Probably every single Stelizzio(I know I spelled that wrong), and god knows what else. I think they should put this in more games, it just makes it easier to find items. God knows I dont want to be looking in one area for two hours looking for that one piece of great armor that I shouldn't pass up.

For the record, it's not the "!" I have a problem with. Yes, I do appreciate that they pointed out the secret items to you with that, and that they didn't just say nothing about it. I'm just saying that with so many hidden items, you're kind of driven a bit insane always looking out for the "!".

Lol, that's so true. Funny that you say that, because I was talking to someone the other day about how I wanted to restart the fight with Zorn and Thorn because I wanted to steal all of their items. I was like "I'm really disappointed--okay, well, Zidane's really insulted as a thief."

To be honest, the "!" annoyed me after a while, I'm the kind of person that can't leave something undone, so i spent so many extra hours finding all these "!".
Now I must go and make a cu of coffee!!

I support "!" because it helps with finding items so much. It'd be more annoying if there wasn't any kind of hint near hidden items and we should run every inch of the screen AND keep pushing X all the time. Now it's just running and seeing is there any "!" around. : D

Though I only had this "got to catch them all" -problem on the first time I played. I quickly remembered the places and there was no more need of pointless searching every playtime.

I had the same feeling here. As there were so many "!" throughout the game I had to search everywhere on my second play through to be certain I found everything I could, and even now I want to play it again just to make sure I didn't miss anyting on the first few times as much as anything else.

I understand the feeling of paranoia with this game, having it ingrained into your subconscious that you'll never get absolutely everything. That's probably because you never can. If you do absolutely everything in the game, there will be at least one thing you'll miss. Excalibur II. But if you somehow actually get Excalibur II, racing through all of those discs, for a good chunk of that stuff, you can never go back and finish everything. It's a paradox.

As for the '!', they didn't really bother me. They were one of those small little things that added to the more upbeat nature of the story as a whole. It's one of the rare RPG's that give you a hint something is hidden anyway, so I'm glad they are there. Looking behind hidden little nooks and crannies is hard to do, even if your using a guide.

I used my walkthrough to check if there was anything "important" to pick up in every location (Stellazzio, jewels, weapons, accessories, key items, etc.) and focused on finding those. I do explore the locations thoroughly, but if I don't find every Potion or eye drop that a ! contains I've learnt to not let it bug me...the feeling of incompletion can eat your soul!! Lol...so I just try focus on getting the worthwhile stuff and not panic if I missed one Antidote ! thingy. Btw, has anyone actually tried to jump rope 1000 times to get the key item? It hurts my eyes

i tend to find myself doing simalar things,
feeling sure I had missed an item, that may become important,
such feelings are very agitating when you end up serching and re-searching every area for such treasures,
even more annoying when you realise later in the game that their WAS something you missed, despite your efforts.

In burmecia particulary I find myself, knowing that its a fake treasure chest, just HAVING to make sure, such things resulting in my annoyance when i realise that I was right, And It was fake

but anyway, the constant '!' mess with my head, for about ann hour after everything in site has an '!' over the tope.....its at this point when I realise I needa break from it.

They had so many hidden items that you couldn't see in anyway that the "!" was necessary. They could have just made less hidden items. Also the "!" is pointless for treasure chests because you can see them.
