post THE strangest thing ever to happen playing FFIX!
okay mine is like this...
i was fighting a Lamia in Gizamaluke´s Grotto
i used Countdown on it
after 10 seconds it died and used Entice at the same time!!!
how strange is that

When I started the Nova dragon boss battle, the dragon killed everyone except Vivi. On top of that I had nothing to bring them back to life and nothing at all that could heal me (including auto regen, I didn't have that). I kept using spells on it. Every couple of times it attacked me my health got really low but then he used a wind spell and (thanks to my octagon rod) it actually healed me. The battle continued like this and I won.

This was the first time I played FFIX and I hadn't read any walkthroughs or anything. Now I was at the part where you had to rename Garnet before going in to Dali and coz my name is Sarah and means Princess and seeing as Garnet was a Princess I called her Sarah. It wasn't until later in the game I did some of the side quests including the one in Madain Sari where you find out Garnet's original name which funnily enough was Sarah

^ That is very strange. You might want to put the entire thing in a spoiler quote though.

I'm sure I wasn't the only who was tempted to keep her as Garnet.

Garnet: Zidane, is that a dagger?

Zidane: Yes, knifes this long are always called daggers.

Garnet: I see... I think I'll call myself...Princess Garnet!

Zidane: *sigh*

when i battled the dragons in gulug mountain i lost all my characters with vivi and i think it was a gaia gear or something which kept healing me from their attacks so i pretty much owned them even when i ran out of mp

That same thing happened to me (but I thought the Nova dragon was a better one to tell). The item was the Octagon Rod. That's my favourite item.

i was fighting ozma and he was alllmost dead and i had 2 characters left and one was zidane in his trance and the other was vivi. he killed viv and htenhe honestly got zidane to 4 hp left. FOUR!i had no phoenix downs or potions left and zidane cant heal. i did one last grand lethal and finished him. talk about my heart pounding.
