The start of the game

Maybe this is one of the symptoms an FF-game has, that the start can confuse you when you're playing it for the 1st time.

But none of them confused me as much as the one in IX. Whole the time I didnt know it was a play and I thought that Cornelia and Leo were real personages of the game. I totally didnt know where everything was at. Other confusing factors were that starting FMV and the kidnapping. I was like hey wait what are they doing now

and why medeo doesnt do any damage!

Luckily on my 2nd attempt that became quite clear.

Anyone else got confused quite a bit at IX's start.

Well, that's quite understandable, 'cause I was confused for a bit too until they Zidane and Blank started doing the 'swordfighting' scene and I knew that it wasn't all real, and that it was a play.

i wasn't confused by the storyline, i understood that, it was pretty simple really compared to some other FFs...like XII.

the only thing i didn't get was the fact that Medeo didn't take of any damage O_O but then i realised it was probably special effects that would make the play look better for the audience

I was never confused by the start. I know sometimes FF can be confusing at the beginning but I knew it was a play.

Must have been cuz I'm belgian and not native English speaking.

I didnt understand the expression "Marcus,break a leg".

I thought wtf why does he have to break his leg xD

The start of the game was excellent ur sorta thrown straight into the action, the sword fightin game was excellent.
i always knew it was a play lol
but i was a bit boggled by sfx and why medeo and the other attacks dealt no damage, but hey that was like 7 years ago

I wasn't confused at all. It all explained in the very beginning - their plans and how they would kidnap Princess Garnet. And the whole set-up was so obvious...that everything was just a play. (The audience pretty much gave it away

)

I knew it was a play too, but the "stage magic" still threw me off. I kept going "Dammit why isn't it working!"

when i start playing FF i was so confused that i did not know what i was doing in the game.

haha yeah i was pretty confused by the whole SFX command you could do. but what was confusing about the kidnapping? i think i understood that pretty well my first time through.
