Should Beatrix have been an optional Secret character?
Since FFIX was one of the rare FF's which has offered no secret characters - although this HAS seemed to have become a trend after FFVIII - do you think that the lovely General Beatrix should have been made a fully useable character? Meaning you would be allowed to change her Weapon armour and abilitys etc.

i think she should have been - Beatrix is a kick ass swordswoman and would have been a lot better than Steiner IMO

Yeah. Replacing Steiner with Beatrix would have been a good move. They should have had Steiner die or something and then Beatrix joins you.

She definitely should have joined you. But, Steiner's Sword Art makes her Seiken pointless by the end of the game, it's not unique anymore. Plus, the Sword Magic is pretty kick ass, and Beatrix couldn't've used it. I don't think she should have REPLACED Steiner, but a nice counterpart wouldn't've hurt

i would of liked to have her in the team along side Zidane, Steiner and Vivi and if vivi can do sword magic for steiner surelly he can do it for Beatrix

Ohhh yeah, definitely! I love Beatrix so much, her character design is just so unique! It would have been so cool if they let her join your party...although, I don't really like the idea of her replacing Steiner. She could just join the party with Steiner still in it.

There is that option but SE probably thought that there would be too many characters. There's 8 full customizable characters in the game already and they probably thought 9 would be too many. That's probably why they killed one off in FFVII.

No 9 Characters ARN'T too many.

Look at FFVI - 13 playable characters. And i highly doubt that Aeris died in FFVII because 9 was too many characters - it was vital to the plot.

Anyway i think that if she had been in their : Beatrix Steiner Vivi and Garnet would be the ultimate team

Hmmm.... 13 eh? Never finished FFVI so I don't know. I got to the part when the world is destroyed and you play as Celes and you find Sabin in that village. That's about how far I got. I only got 9 characters in that game at that point. I didn't think there would be any more.

Beatrix rocks, I would have loved it if she was a selectable character. ViVI, Steiner and Beatrix, wow, I like the sound of that.
