What exactly is Doctor Tot? He's the only character in the game with a beak O_O

Could it be part of a costume, or just another race in the FFIX world? It's rather annoying me, because I have no idea what the hell he is D:

... that's not a beak. It's an excessively large nose.

I'd have thought as much was evident during the somewhat close scenes we see featuring him. Particularly within his globe of Gaia.

It sure looked like a beak to me...then again I think my color settings are messed up because it looked slightly yellow O_O

That would make more sense though, since all nerdy smart guys are stereotyped with having a large nose and glasses and all that.

But I've no idea what he is. Maybe some Jew variation of the Conde Petie dwarves. This is an interesting theory about him I saw on the FF wiki though:

I'm inclined to think they're the equivalent of human races we have here. We have Asians, blacks, Mexicans, Caucasians, etc. So maybe on Gaia, they have normal humans like Blank and Ruby, midget uber-nosed humans like Tot, pointy eared humans like Marcus and....well I think Baku's mom or dad was a pig, so I dunno wtf he is.

According to the FF Wiki, Baku means 'tapir' in Japanese, so he is meant to resemble some sort of humanoid tapir. So it seems Baku is not human. Tot also is human-there are some birdpeople in IX; the woman who collects the stellazios in Treno, and some NPC in Alexandria towards the start, I can't recall right now.

Marcus...I don't know. I'd lean towards odd-looking human. However, once a game gets to the point of including hippo people, four-armed men, and tiny white things with little poms who deliver mail, badass rat women, and, well, Quina...you kinda stop questioning things, if you know what I mean, and just accepted its own odd logic.

lmao, well the moogles are fairies so they're nowhere even close to human. As for Gilgamesh, he's supposed to be a shapeshifter anyway so I'm not sure if he counts. IX is practically a furry paradise though.

It's explained in the game that Zidane is a Genome, which is something Garland created himself if I recall correctly...

i didnt play much, my
