Carbuncle & Fenrir
It had been a while since I'd be playing FFIX and I thought I knew a great deal of its secrets. Then I discover that Fenrir and Carbuncle have more to offer:
Fenrir has an alternative attack named Millenia Decay (Wind damage) that he will unleash when Eiko is equipped with the Maiden Prayer accessory. He slits into numerous gusts of wind, in the form of wolves, and catches his foe within a tornado, which looks quite nice.
Carbuncle, besides Reflect, can alternatively cast Haste (when Eiko's equipped with an Emerald, Shell (when Eiko's equipped with a Moonstone) or Vanish (when equipped with a Diamond).
I tried these out myself and was quite amazed that these abilities were hidden within the two Eidolons. I have known about these for quite some time, however, and I just thought I'd see what you guys (and ladies) thought of it (if you knew)?

You must equip Eiko with Emerald.

Wow, I knew that stone quantities effected the damage dealt by certain Eidolons, but I didn't know they would effect Eiko's status effects. XD

I've had Fenrir's second attack before, but I though it was just a random occurence, or it depended on other factors. I suppose it makes good sense now.
I never knew about Carbuncle though, but I never use it anyway so they're useless to me =/.
