I think the squad changed far more in this than other FFs, and I found it hard to keep up! When I was twelve (and dumb), I was confused as to why the guy who joins your party and then ('you're a terrible liar' *fight* just before P&P got petrified) never fought Lolz

you must mean Baigan.... Yeah, they weren't the most inventive on lines, it was back in the days where they didn't want kids to play games with swearing, death, or any negative imagery.

hmmm... at that point it was Cecil, Yang, Tellah, Porom and Palom, then the twins cast stone and Cid joins up.... It changed to further plot, the creators wanted to give you a view into their different personalities and not just have them as characters who join but have nothing to them... I think a bit later in that sequence, you gain Rydia.

I thought it was fine how they did it. It helped progress the story along. I thought it was better than just choosing five characters and let the rest sit back and watch.

Repeated changing of the characters is one of the best things about the game. You never knew who was going to leave the party next and that made for a great storyline.

If I could choose my characters I would only level up 5 of them and leave the others to die a weak death.

i likes the character change thing it made the story more interesting and it made it more fun. i think that it was a cool idea. it lead to understanding things a lot better.

I didn't like the characters at all in FFIV. Because they changed too much, it gave you very little time to have a favoutrite based on their character and only on their battle prowess. There was little or no character background presented in IV either which gave the characters very little depth

That's not at all right. I love the characters, I just found it impossible to level them evenly (and the Baigin bit confused me) and that's my snag...
