Onion Knight is pointless. I've always been intro using magic, but even so, I think Evoker is also prety pointless. Red Mages rock, though.

Red Mages become a bit useless once you get Level 6 magic I only ever used them for about 1/3 of the game.

Sages are the best when partnered with a devout, ggod for backup magic and support, then you can attack with them when they are not needed.
Onion Nights are pretty useless, but I heard they become quite superior at high class levels.
I'd have to say the most useless was the bard. he didn't do much for me. and also the dragoon. sure he had the lances, but they were weaker than swords, and jump was practically uselss because it takes two turns in which you could have already done more damage with regular attacks.

All the classes have their uses, I guess.
Freelancer: Useful until you get the first airship...?
Warrior: Attacking tank, only outcalassed by knight once you get King Argus' sword.
Monk: Easy way to get 9999 HP.
Thief: Beast until you get Ninja, gungnir.
Red mage: *ahem* Physically good, magically good, all rounders that are useful until you get the water crystal.
Black Mage: A glas cannon. Great when you hagve to be minied, but knocked out easily.
White Mage: Healers. 'Nuff said.
Onion Knight: THE Best at job level 99.
Scholar: Hein, Chocobo's Wrath.
Knight: Defend, King's sword, Ragnarok, Excalibur.
Bard: Best for status effects.
Evoker: Good replacement for BM.
Ranger: Bows have their uses. As far as back row fighters go, they need the least MP.
Dragoon: Half the enemies later on are air type. Can anybody say 9999?
Dark Knight: Useful as a replacement for thief/knight/fighter. Doubling enemies.
Viking: Provoke+2 sheilds=Easy Iron Giant battle.
Masters, Magi, Devouts, Sages, Summoners, Ninjas are all useful too.

Well FYI Scholars are impervious to magic damage I have found. Every magic spell (excluding poison and other hp sapping spells) deals 0 damage every time.
Evokers, I just started Refia as an Evoker and it is sorta okay but I'll be switching to summoner ASAP.
I found the thief class to be good for support (item-wise) since they are difficult to hit, and it is usually poor damage.
The Monk class I did find useless though, since they lacked the physical endurance I expected them to have. (mine usually dies in just 2 or 3 hits) and the overall damage is poor.
Dragoons are currently my damage whores. With a dual wield thunder spears I can hit over 2K damage in a 10hit combo (fairly frequent) at level 26.
I rarely used the Ranger and most of the other class as most of them had low defense imo.
My black mage is capable of dishing out 1400+ atm with a blizzaga spell and thundara at times.
That should do for now. XD

I know that Scholars are only useful at one point in the game, in which I had to scan a boss's status and pinpoint exactly what his current weakness as it changes from time to time. Actually, now that I think about it, I got Refia to be a decent-level Scholar and she was pretty strong. o.o She attacked with two books but damn did it deal a lot of damage.
Now Bard...didn't use that class at all. I just don't think it's worth it. Can't really remember what else I did not use or found pointless though...

Bards and Scholars. Both seemed completely useless to me no matter what I tried to do to improvise or learn about them. I also remembered Geomancers being pretty useless, although I can't remember why or how long I focused on that class..

Geomancers useless?! I think not. They were practically a free Black Mage.
Geomancers + Eureka = 5000+ damage every time, I think the attack was called Nanoflare. Uber!
