Don't worry, Busta, it's nothing like that at all. You will need a healer though, that's for sure. That is why I find the Red Sage so convenient. He uses swords and currently deals about almost 2,000 damage (possibly more so than the others) and is also the healer of the party. He's only level 32.

Now I'm not sure if I should switch to Devout...I prefer a character who deals physical attacks and heals at the same time.

Well problems begin when the hardest battles start and your healer has to heal every turn, and you know Red Mages can't learn the so useful Arise that is very needed since Raise is basically obsolete in most of the boss battles.

-Sighs- Yeah I figured that. I know Devout is the only one who can use the Arise. Still, I'm going to miss my Red Mage...

I tried to have all mages at one point but I suck with magic so I only had the one red mage which I later changed to sage & it bugs me so much that she has to use a staff

It's pretty funny actually... early on, magic is the most powerful way of attacking, but pretty soon it becomes useless. Physical all the way. (except for a devout. They are the handiest character you'll have.)

I tried all mages once but with a warrior you get your ass kicked by some bosses I always used 1 White, 1 Black, 1 Red, 1 Warrior
