I have the GBA - Dawn of Souls Version

I just had that black Mage leave my party and now ive realised that i may need to get some magic seem as no one can cure....

Im up to the Part where Dreadnought escaped after going through the cave and its just attcked some towns.Now i need to go to Kashaun for the SunFire.

So have i just got to advance more inot the game for magic or am i just not doing somthign right.i know you can buy Cure,Fire,Blizzard,Thunder Tomes, but there just items,the White mage had his magic in a menu like other FF games how do i do that on this game.Im enjoying the game so far but nned help on this so if you could help me id appreciate it thanks

If I remember right, the magic store gives you scrolls and you use the item on a party member to make him/her learn the spell. So if you want the whole party to learn a certain spell, you need 4 scrolls of that spell.

The magic levels up similar to the weapons - the more you use it, the more powerful it gets.

Thats well said but if you dont train someone to be a real mage they wont use well the spells and they will be weak. So you will have to train a back row magician well to get strong magic.

I just assigned certain spell types to certain party members and make sure they used that specific spell as often as possible. eg. Firion would always use fire-type spells, Maria would use water/ice-types, etc.

That way everyone would get at least one magical offense ability and be proficient with it. But I did make sure everyone was well-versed in cure magic, though Maria would be the main healer of the party.
