Who here has battled and bested the maniacal mechanical menace? (Sorry, I like alliteration). I did on my NES playthrough; I had a Knight, Ninja, Black Wiz and White Wiz AND had the benefit of both Xcalibur and Nuke. I still think it took me a couple of tries.

you know what its been so long since I've fought him. Isn't he a random battle somewhere? I know one of the games theyre was this weapon that walked around and you had to sneak by or possibly die trying to fight him. It was ff1-6 I just don't remember which one. So I'll just get online find out where he is and see if I can take him down.

Anyways yes I have. I found and defeated him easily on my PS playthrough, took abit of time finding him on the GBA, and finally it took me for fucking ages trying to find him on the PSP version.

Yes it's a random battle, on the floating castle in the big room before Tiamats. I think the one you are thinking of is FFV where you have to dodge him in a water cave in the void.
